Peaceful Waters

It is five years today since the dreadful earthquake in Christchurch which caused so much damage and took the lives of 185 people. Up to 2000 folk were injured, some seriously. There have been memorial services in the city and flowers floated down various waterways in memory of those lost. It would have been very moving to have been there today.
Here in Marlborough we were sharply reminded of the fragility of the Earth when a M5 earthquake struck at 4.10pm. Although this earthquake was shallow and 20 or so kms offshore it seems to have caused little damage.
Maisie was particularly lively and difficult at Puppy Classes this evening. It was hard work. Now home she and Morris are having a riotous game in the living room. Any minute now she will have her nose well and truly scratched.
We side-tracked to the Taylor Dam on our way home from Puppy Class. I had hoped to catch the evening sun on the lake. It had all but gone but it was very peaceful and quiet there. Such a Happy Place to visit.
