Behind The Mask

Such a gorgeous morning, ideal for stalking the penduline tits again and see if the light might have changed over by the lake.

Rocking up with a few other twitchers, it soon became apparent that people had come as far afield as Sheffield, Newbury and Liverpool to see them. The birds weren't in evidence at first but someone glimpsed them flitting in the bushes between the road and the reed mace.

Not easy to catch on camera partly because I was sliding down the muddy bank with a tripod and partly because they hide from view a great deal behind the alder branches and catkins. We were all rewarded though and I came away a happy bunny.
