Purple Kings

My Purple King plum tree has produced a crop for the first time in twelve years! We had a tree when I was a teenager and I just loved the big, juicy plums. The tree was one of the first things I bought for the garden when I moved here, but though it showed promise in its early years it stopped fruiting after a particularly abundant year.

I have been a dead loss today. The only thing I have achieved is picking these plums before they became over-ripe in the heat.
