THE DONKEY IN WEHRDEN

In the morning you could find me in the garden, doing little jobs.
I noticed what kind of other jobs I will have to do there, when the weather will be good.
In the afternoon we drove to Blankenau, it is just a bit farther than Beverungen. We parked near the church, walked a bit around and then set out for our walk. Piet Hein had looked at the map and had discovered two wells just outside the village.
We found the path easily and had some help from a friendly forester who
walked with us to a certain point from where he showed us how we best could walk to find the well.
Our path went through a forest, and a brook in the depth was at our left side. Where the brook ended, there was a well. Piet Hein climbed down to come nearer to it, I just sat on a felt tree.
We followed the path that would lead us to Wehrden and we decided to walk back to Blankenau on the path along the Weser. A great idea!
Now and then we had beautiful vistas, we saw Höxter and Fürstenberg.
It snowed a bit, but not for long.
We reached Wehrden and found a bakery where we drank hot tea. We really needed that. When we left it was 5 o'clock already.
There were five donkeys in a field along the path, and of course they were curious and came towards us. Another extra photo if you like it.
This trip took a bit longer than we had anticipated for and we felt happy when we reached Blankenau and could drive home again.
The extra photo shows a spot just outside Blankenau, I have not yet found out what kind of well this is.

We both feel very tired now, and I will have a rest and will catch up tomorrow again.

My haiku:

There is the stable
And enough hay for all of you
A safe place for dreams

And the proverb:

If you squeeze a cork, you will get but little juice.
