Blickling Estate, North Norfolk

At last a lie in. I really love Sundays. No pressure to conform, or do things other people do. Or maybe we do that anyway?

After getting up at 9.30 and a leisurely breakfast, we piled into Jon's car, dogs included, and drove over to the Blickling Estate. A beautiful 4500 acre mix of woodland, parkland, grass & meadowland plus the impressive Blickling Hall, once home of the Boleyn family, and now a jewel in Nation Trust's crown.

We took one of the marked paths and enjoyed the kind of walk we had weekly when we lived at Wandlebury. This puts that small Cambridge park into the shadows. Now we have enjoyed Blickling's peace, it's space, it's history, we plan to return often.

We had a coffee in the NT cafe, then drove home via the small lanes, planning a trip for a warm summer's day by bike or motorbike. We'll see!

Afternoon soon flew, and between cooking a very nice roast (one of my best ever according to Mollie!) and sorting seeds, having a little catch up with my chickens and collecting today's & yesterday's eggs, I did nothing of note. But I've just had a relaxing bath, & now plan to watch the midwives...

Feeling positive.
