Three Unicorns

A lovely cold and frosty morning with a bright blue sky.  I went for a run and did loads of washing which I hung out outside and got most of it dried.  BB came home from church and practiced his cello (the first of the day).

After a lunch made up of fridge leftovers we went to Craigmillar Castle. TT and  have lived in and around Edinburgh for almost thirty years – but have never once visited this castle. It was a great day to visit as the views all around were fantastic.  It would be a great castle for hide and seek – but would also be quite risky – as you may never been found.  There are lots of nooks and crannies on all different levels to get lost in.

We came home via  a supermarket, and BB did his second cello practice of the day.  He has seven practices to do this week, and this is the only way he may get through them.

We had TT’s slow cooked Moroccan chicken tonight, which we were supposed to have yesterday.

We have just enjoyed the second episode of The Night Manager.

Here is the coat of arms of the Preston Family, with the three unicorns, the one-time owners of Craigmillar Castle - dated 1510.  The images below the unicorns represent a press and a tun (Preston).
