Oystercatcher and friends

Tired today - probably something to do with being woken abruptly before 6.00am by Louie barking. No, he didn't need to go outside, thank you very much - he just fancied a snack!

Late afternoon walk around one of the lakes near Powburn. Very few birds to be seen on the lakes or islands over the last few months, but today there were hundreds! As if the place had come alive! Oystercatchers, lapwings and gulls on the island on one lake, various ducks, geese and swans on the water, herons flying from place to place. Lots of small birds in the trees - didn't spot many, but they were evident from the birdsong. And I was too slow to get a shot of a treecreeper.

Evening of domestic stuff and admin. ahead...
