Haagse Harry

Haagse Harry aka 'The Hague Harry' is a cartoon creation by cartoonist Marnix Rueb.

As an authentic citizen of the Hague he illustrated and wrote many many great insights in strip form of the typical regular characters and local hero's of the city.

One of the great things is that he wrote it in a phonetic 'the Hague' dialect, so all other Dutchies had a hard time to read what it was actually all about.

This statue was installed today exactly one week ago during a big event that made National TV journals and has been visited by many prominent people already, amongst which our Prime Minister Mark Rutte and "Night Mayor' René Bom.

It took me some days to figure out the best light on this statue as a homage to Marnix who fell away to soon.

Ps, Most cartoon characters have 4 fingers instead of 5, but if you walk to the back of Haagse Harry's statue he sticks out his fifth 'F U' finger ;-))
