Diary of an Edinburgher

Breakfast treat

A & B came early this morning to take us out to breakfast. Archie doesn't eye them with quite so much suspicion now, and indeed, gave them a hearty welcome.

Across the Links for breakfast at Montpeliers, and an excellent meal it was too - we all had something different and all declared their choice the best.

Archie stood quietly under the table - he never sits in a cafe. He did have a couple of incidents in the Links, though. There was an embarrassing matter of his rear end, which I had up in the air and was attending to, while the visitors were falling about laughing and indeed - getting their cameras out! Actually, I haven't seen the photo, but I did wonder if even in that compromising position, Archie turned and posed for the camera, such a trouper he is.

The other bit of drama on the way home was when a huge big bird swooped down and almost attacked him, had he not scarpered sharpish at the last minute. He thought it was a huge big red and black bird with a massive wing span, but it was actually a kite that nearly crashed on top of him as he was barking at it.

The visitors went on into town to meet up with rellies, while Archie and I came home to watch the Davis Cup Tennis. JR decided to go and return an item in town, and came back with three items... This was one of them - a rather nice scarf which Archie thought was for him.

We have Kiwi friends coming soon, and so we managed to book our favourite dog friendly B&B in Pitlochry for a night in May. It only has three rooms, so to book two of them on a weekend was lucky! Looking forward to it already!
