Red Sky in Morning

Sailors take warning...

Brilliant colors in this morning's sky as I headed off to the golf course. Starting at 6:00 am, we were able to play 16 ½ holes before a deluge of rain arrived. Leaving our balls on the 17th green we headed for home.

Today, I rode in the cart of Jim, a 74 year old who lived in New England before he moved to SaddleBrooke. Jim is a "ball hawk" who started a unique and meaningful program to recycle lost golf balls for charity. Last week he found 400 golf balls.

Like new golf balls are cleaned, sorted, boxed and sold for $10 per dozen. They can be purchased at a local barber shop or at Men's Club events.

So far $130,000 has been raised for the Kids Closet which provides school outfits for needy children. The golf balls clothe about 10 kids per month.
