After the wettest winter...

This has been the wettest winter on record in parts of England and most of Scotland. and Argyll has officially been the wettest part of Scotland - a record 3.5 metres of rain in the three (meteorological) winter months.

It is still winter in terms of temperature, but the sun has been shining much more in the last few weeks and today on Bute the weather was beautiful .

After a good constituency meeting - the last before the election in May - we all went off to do campaign tasks across the island.  I was down at the south end, in Kilchattan Bay,  where some of the fields still show signs of the endless downpours in December, January and early February.  I saw the same signs in Kintyre yesterday with standing water in many places.

It will take a time to dry out and a lot of good weather.   Here's hoping !
