Me & Lynnie

Have had a lovely day today, catching up with one of my oldest friends from the 1st Hoddesdon Guides days. Lynn ran the 1st Hoddesdon Guides (which celebrates it's 100th birthday in October) for many years (at least 20), and was my leader until I left at 16, then returned as a young leader. We had many fun times camping in Kent, Isle of Wight and locally, and memories are still vivid! Happy times. Lynn is visiting a friend in North Walsham, and so this afternoon we chatted, reminisced and drank tea. It was 10 years since we last met up. We both agreed it was too long.

In the evening we met at a restaurant local to their friend, and Lynn & Maurice treated us to a lovely meal, enchanting company and the reminder that we have some very special friendships, and it doesn't matter how long between meetings, those friends will always be special. We parted company committed to meeting up again soon.

So a late blip, no poem, but a lovely day.
