A Day Worth Recording

Yat

We're in the Forest of Dean so it's about time you saw some forest.

Better large. It's made up of 7 portrait shots stitched together.

Actually we're really only at the northern edge of the forest (and 'forest' doesn't strictly mean 'wooded' anyway). This is the view of the river Wye from Symmonds Yat Rock. Symmonds Yat of the name of the village - or villages, as it's split in two by the river.

We'd parked in the [eastern] village, at river level, and walked up. As the weather was looking reasonable we took a long route (several miles) back through the woods, had a good lunch at the cafe - no room for cake - and then headed into Monmouth as the weather started to deteriorate. We had a quick look at the castle (don't bother, it's all rather vestigial), and E and I settled for a coffee while the boys raided the charity shops.
