A view of Loch Ness

A super, sunny day so we decided to make the most of it and headed to Dores on the South shore of Lochness. The less busy and more beautiful side !
We had planned to have lunch in The Dores Inn but yes, you've guessed it, 'Closed on a Monday' ! We did jump out the car to take a few photos and were surprised at the number of Mallards both males and females, must go back in the late Spring to see the ducklings.
Now to find somewhere else to eat. We knew there was a tearoom at Foyers so drove along the Loch side admiring the views and found a great pub just above Lower Foyers with fabulous views across Lochness to the snow topped mountains beyond. We shared a soup and both had steak , very nice. As we sat waiting for our meal a  Hercules Aircraft flew low over the loch.
Up to Foyer and a walk to the falls although I gave up reluctantly as I have a fear of heights that seems to be getting worse so I had to stop when the handrail ran out and you had to walk down some rocks. Mike carried on though while I walked back up and sat on a bench looking at the view in my blip.
Back along the a new road to us that took us between huge rocks and a lovely wooded burn.
In one of the extras you can see the workman are getting ready for the season and were painting the poles on the bridge over the River Ness.
We did see Nessie celebrating Mothers day.

Last night we went out looking at the Northern Lights. Great to see so many people out doing the same :)
