Morris men invasion.

Ely Folk Festival....

A wonderful time of the year to be in the Fens, steeped in magic and ancient customs the Festival draws in all the different Morris Men (and Women).

They all have their own take on the dances and forms that have grown up over the years and each troop performs in a different way, some do sort of Jigs, others do what is called 'a Round' and some even mix in some nasty looking knife action!!

This lot are fantastic..Pig Dyke Molly...is their name and they certainly make an impression, making dances and twirls based on local stories and traditions....spooky looking lot! Love it!

The general atmosphere here in lovely Ely is just brilliant, lots of people come from all over the world as This Festival still has a feel of 'realness' to it.

Anyway, a busy day and as the weather looks half decent for tomorrow some bike action is planned.....can't wait!
