U-Bahn München: 71/100 Olympia-Einkaufszentrum U1

Munich underground: 71/100 Olympia-Einkaufszentrum (U1)

Another entry - another interchange station. The upper level of Olympia-Einkaufszentrum underground station, which is the northern terminus of the green U1 line, was opened in October 2004. Since 2007, you can change to the orange U3 line on the lower level here. It is named after the huge shopping center, which is right on top of the station.

The U1 station has side platforms, a rather unusual style in Munich's underground network. The station is not quite as colourful as its next southern neighbour Georg-Brauchle-Ring, but is guided by the sober, beauty of Gern station (another close southern neighbour).

Photography-wise, side platforms are also quite challenging for me, as symmetrical views are not so easy to get.

(Is is just that I never tried to enter a title with more than 50 letters, or is this 50-letters-max rule new?)
