Big Meeting ...

... or Durham Miners' Gala.

Unfortunately my photo does not really reflect the character of the event. These are just some of the crowds of people attending, rather than part of the procession or the political speeches.

I would have liked to have blipped the brass bands, but I had only nipped into Durham to have lunch with a friend before driving her to view a couple of properties, as she is soon to move up here from Winchester (it is always fascinating to poke around other people's houses, don't you think?). So sorry Mr Miliband, but I wasn't there to hear you.
