Water of Leith

An unusual day but a good one. At 12:00 we gathered in the common room at work (which would have been the drawing room of the original house before the building was turned into offices) and there was a presentation to Meles and me as we both prepare for pastures new. It was a lovely occasion - just right in tone and no hankies were required. Though I was pretty overwhelmed by people's generosity. Then out for lunch with a select band of chums. Great fun and lovely to be joined by a couple of retired colleagues and someone who'd come up from Gateshead for the occasion. Meles and I then went for a wander in the Dean Gardens which we'd spoken about for over a year now. It was almost warm, so sheltered and the light was gorgeous. This is the weir on the Water of Leith as it runs through the Dean Village.
