Sally Rainbow's Dell

I wanted to blip Sally Rainbow's Dell, a dangerously steep sided hollow with a cave at the bottom, once inhabited by Sally, a witch. She was friendly with local highwayman Clibbons and stored his loot for him as the locals would be too scared to steal it from her. It is rumoured she also worked with Dick Turpin and she extorted money and food from farmers by 'protecting' cattle rather than turning her evil eye on them.

I passed the dell this morning on a walk from Perrywood up to Queen Hoo Hall and back via Bramfield Park Wood with Una & Sally (friend not witch!) but unfortunately my photographs don't do it justice. It just looks flat and it's really really not!

Nevertheless the woods were full of bluebells, the first of which were just starting to open.
