Teamwork - The Big Picture

24 hours from now this plant will have a dusting of snow on it according to the weather forecast...

The company I work for at any given time has 10,000 plus loaded trailers spread out in 48 states and Canada.. Occasionally a load gets lost in the system and becomes what is known as a HOT LOAD and needs to be at the customer as soon as possible.

The drivers gets asked when can you have it at the customer. The driver needs to know part of the big picture such as, is the equipment legal, weather, road conditions, traffic, etc..The driver then sends when they think they can get it there.

It gets reviewed and then it is either is accepted or gets sent up to a higher manager for further review. At this point this person sees the bigger picture of knowing every truck that is going in and out of their territory, plus when and where they are going...

In my case today they decided to run me to one truck stop and hand the load to another driver. Because that load won't sit for my required 10 hour break that driver will have time to chain up and get the load to our Sacramento yard where they will hand it to a third driver to deliver on time. (Assuming the road stays open of course)

Everybody working together for the goal of the big picture to keep the company open and profitable.
