San Juan, Puerto Rico

Greetings from San Juan!  We had a very enjoyable walk through the old part of the city this morning, admiring the beautiful, colourful old Spanish Colonial buildings and the very impressive wall that surrounds the city.  Dotted along this wall are the famous "Garitas" -- lookout towers -- that have become a symbol of this Caribbean island.  I love the shape of them -- they make me think of pepper pots!

Moored alongside us is the gargantuan Navigator of the Seas, a Royal Caribbean cruise ship capable of hosting 4,000 passengers.  She absolutely dwarfs our little vessel!  All afternoon long, they have been blasting the pier with loud music, which has made "enjoying" our balcony an impossibility.  Well, I hope someone is enjoying the musical entertainment, anyway!
