RETIREMENT TRIP TO THE ISLE OF SKYE DAY 2

After breakfast, we headed out to Elgol and, although it was cloudy, the sun was spotlighting the snow capped Cuillin on the other side of Loch Scavaig. A nice bit of low level cloud hung below the summit and a R.I.B. bobbing on its mooring gave me some foreground interest.

We drove across to Glasnakille on the east coast of the Strathaird peninsula where I photographed a ruined, roofless house with Loch Slapin in the background.

On the way back to Broadford we stopped at Faolean and got a picture of the village of Torrin nestling below cloud covered Bein Dearg Mhor.

After a short break at our hotel in Broadford, we headed down to Armadale Bay where the ferry sails to Mailaig on the mainland. We popped in to visit Grumpy George, a professional photographer originally from the Aberdeen area and you couldn't mistake his strong accent from that area. He had some lovely landscapes on display and seemed keen to chat away about photography in general. He certainly didn't live up to his name.

The last picture of the day was taken from our hotel room looking through the window towards the small island of Pabay and some low cloud on the mainland hills behind. Please check out the extra photos for these additional pictures.

After freshening up, we tried a Spanish restaurant across the road where the food was delicious if a bit pricey. Oh well, we are on holiday!
