Loving the Sun!

Knowing it was going to be a sunny day I had planned to spend a lot of it on the allotment - but didn't! I got waylaid by sorting pots in the back garden and doing washing, and the girls were having such fun I hadn't the heart to confine them to their run! So I sat in the sun and read my book instead!  Pip has unexpectedly turned out to be quite the little minx - managed to force her way into my wicker planter and had a fine old time pecking in the dirt! She is rapidly becoming my favourite! Odd as she is not the most striking in feather pattern and white chickens don't immediately grab me - Tilly came with Milly who I did choose only because she was the only pekin bantam the seller definitly knew was another female! But look how much I love her! As with humans - it's not the looks but the personality that counts - then you come to love both sides even if by general standards they are not lookers - they become so to you! My ex is testament to that!
Anyhow......I finally made it to the allotment and dug up some grass for the newbies at home and did a fine bit of weeding. Tomorrow is pedicure day for the 16 plot ladies and I might even get my potatoes in - but I have a lot of other bits to do so we shall see how that  goes!
