Finally out and about

Had a completely free day today with some amazing weather promised so I headed to Llandwyn Island, Anglesey.

This is only an island in extremely high tides, but it is an incredible place. You walk along the beach for a couple of miles to get to it.

You have Snowdonia behind you and forests to you right, with the sea on your left. On the island are 2 lighthouses, a row of pilot's cottages and a ruined monastery. Even with a few more people today than usual, there is an air of serenity about it, almost spirituality and zen levels are well and truly restored.

With the walk to and from the island, but a bit of unscheduled hiking (i.e. got lost) in the forest, managed to cover 11.63 miles today! The most I have ever done. Feeling very chuffed. Very achy and exhausted, but very chuffed!
