Protest

Another wet morning hadn't deterred this lovely young man from chalking on a sodden pavement the news of the occupation of Adam House by Edinburgh University Students, protesting about the continued use of fossil fuels. I fear it was rather like painting the Forth Road Bridge- he chalked, the public walked over it erasing it with their wet feet and he redid the chalking.

Just as we thought we couldn't hear of any more deaths this year, came the awful news at lunch time today that HL's cousin's wife, she who was so elegant and fashionable and graced these pages last month looking the very image of a dowager duchess, has died suddenly. She was such an eccentric fun relation to have, that I will miss her terribly. Forfar has lost a great character and I have lost a friend.

My extra image is of Dorothy taken on the 10th March this year.
