The Merlion, Singapore

Day 3

08.30 English service. Made to feel very welcome. We knew all the hymns and songs.

Then a drive to the coast, torrential tropical storm. Lunch at a Hawker Centre. Tasted watermelon and sugar cane juices.

Into the city centre. Toured around the banking area, the Merlion, Raffles Sculptures, Cavenagh Bridge, into the Fullerton Hotel. So much public art, I love it.

On to the National Museum, three hours here learning about the history of the city. Fascinating, sad, uplifting.

Then a delicious dinner at a Chinese restaurant. Interesting blends of sweet and savoury flavours.
