hot mud pools

.... sadly not. Simply cold mud pools.

Needless to say, the dogs were soaked to the skin today but I remained dry thanks to good waterproofs and wellies. I actually enjoyed being forced out for a walk as it wasn't cold and I loved all the patterns made by the running water and the muddy pathways. I particularly liked this one as the rain drops plopping into the mud brought back lots of happy memories for me of the amazing mud pools found in Iceland during a wonderful holiday there, which sadly turned out to be the last holiday before my husband died.

45mm of rain fell overnight and into the morning.
