Gimme Fuss!

Basil went to church this morning. So did Len and I. George had asked us to attend morning service at St Aidan's in Leicester to hear the first reading of the marriage banns between him and Kat. He and Kat had been taken to Sunderland to watch the football between Sunderland and LCFC. Ken is a Sunderland supporter.

Instead of being labelled respectively as bachelor and spinster of this parish, they were described as single.

St Aidan's was about as close as you could get to being at a Roman Catholic service. The  host was contained in a gold tapestry covered dome on the high altar, the priests, three of them, wore superb vestments and there was a lot of incense and bowing. Even the Hail Mary and the Regina Coeli were sung.

I had to protest a bit for Basil to be admitted but once inside, he charmed everyone, as usual. As you can see, he got a lot of fuss during refreshments in the church hall after the service.

Then to Leicester for a quick foray into Highcross, where I couldn't resist buying a short coat and a dress in House of Fraser. Then back to George and Kat's house to feed the cats and settle down for an afternoon of Sky Sports.

Thrilled that Jamie Vardy scored the two goals against Sunderland that kept Leicester City at the top of the premier league. Not so thrilled that Spurs scored 3 against Man U, which keeps them in contention for winning the league.
