Holiday Weather

We had arranged to meet my brother and sister in law at Wallington today.  It was a very dull morning with low cloud, and was raining by the time we met them.  Undaunted we set off for a walk, only to discover that the river walk was out of bounds as the bridge had been damaged in floods. We still managed a walk through the woods (following the story of the dragons) and gardens, and back round the adventure playgrounds and ponds.  We stopped at the wildlife hide for a while and watched a red squirrel and lots of birds.  The rain went off eventually, but it was still damp.  We were glad to go to the café for some lunch to warm up and dry off.  They headed home mid-afternoon and we headed to Bellingham and to Hareshaw Linn.  It was a very muddy walk up the side of the burn until we reached the waterfall.  It was like finding a waterfall in a clearing in the jungle.  The history of the area was fascinating.

We then headed home to have a quiet evening watching DVDs.

Here is everyone at the dragon heads at Wallington - in the rain.  The extra is of BB at Hareshaw Linn.  The other extra is what we found in the woods at Wallington.
