Crathorne Hall

It's been just over four years since we were last at Crathorne. I've been so excited about coming back up.
Mr K took Miss L to school this morning while I attempted to get the house in some sort of order before Nanny arrived.
And pack a few things.
Just before noon it was goodbye to Nanny and Miss E and we were off. Whoop whoop!!!!
The M1 was slow and the weather was terrible but we didn't care - we were giddy to be off on holiday!
Despite the torrential rain it was so special driving down the drive and catching our first glimpse of the beautiful hotel.  I practically skipped out of the car and through the door to check in.
I love it here!! I loved it when we stayed for a week in November 2008 with an eight month old Miss E.
We were the only guests and got on really well with all the staff. It was like living in Downton Abbey!
That wonderful holiday was the reason we chose it for our wedding. And booked it despite the fact we hadn't set foot up here for three years!
When we were checking in this afternoon Mr E came and and greeted us so warmly, shaking our hands and telling us we hadn't changed a bit!!
So nice to be remembered!
We lounged about for a bit in our glorious room, went and sat in the lounge downstairs and had some tea, lounged about a bit more in our room and then headed out for dinner.
We went to The Three Tuns in Osmotherley which is where we went the night before our wedding with loads of our friends and family. It was lovely to go back!
A huge bread and oil sharing platter, followed by delicious chicken for me and fish and chips for Mr K. We were both too full for pudding!
Unfortunately Nanny rang to ask where the Calpol is because Miss E was complaining of toothache. It put a bit of a downer on things as I'm envisaging another bout of hideous tooth problems. Hopefully it'll be better in the morning!!
Back to the hotel - to our lovely room with its enormous bed and a family pack of Maltesers which had mysteriously appeared on Mr K's pillow. Must have been the Pefect Wife Fairy!!
