But, then again . . . . .

Lenten Rose.

A.k.a. a Hellibore, Blipped in our front garden.

Mrs TD delivered some quilts to a women’s refuge then we went to the flat pack emporium for lunch; we were anticipating a toastie and some decent coffee in their coffee bar. The disappointment was that they have listened to our opinions and revamped the restaurant as a result; well, we don’t remember asking them to get rid of their coffee bar. Neither did we ask them to change the price of their drinking chocolate from 50p for a cup that you could repeatedly refill to £1.30 for a token that allowed you to fill a cup once. It’s not that the restaurant food is bad, or even overpriced, it’s just that the toasties and real coffees were much better.

The reason for being there was that Herself wanted to check out some more storage for her sewing room; there will soon be so much storage space in there that there won’t be any room for doing any sewing.

We went to see Mrs Merlin in hospital, just before we went on holiday she had a “small stroke.” She’s lost a lot of weight and her speech isn’t too good but there is a vestige of a sense of humour. Cruel I know, but I was reminded of an excellent, but under-rated, Ronnie Barker sketch in which he was “the president of the Loyal Society for the Relief of Sufferers from Pismronunciation.” Fortunately, she still has her sense of humour.

Not sure who's running FlowerFriday15, but thanks, whoever you are though, as I’m posting this a day late, it doesn’t qualify. I did try using flash, the result is the extra, and an extreme close-up which isn’t; it was the naturally backlit shot came out best.

I’ve just posted yesterday’s “Living in the Past.”
