Seahouses

A quietish day for us.  TT had mentioned going to Seahouses – though I wasn’t quite sure why.  We did head there in the end  and had a wander around –but it was freezing, so we didn’t linger too long. We did get a good view out to the Farne Islands, though none of us fancied a boat trip in the cold.   I think I have only ever been to Seahouses when it is freezing.  We thought we might have some lunch in Bamburgh, but with cars everywhere, we couldn’t find anywhere to park so kept going, ending up in Belford where we had a lovely lunch in a café we have been to quite a few times in the past.

As it was a day with no real plan, we then drove on and ended up in Alnwick. We had a wander through the town, ending up in Barter Books which we love.  However, strangely both TT and I felt that although there were hundreds of books, the fiction section seemed a little empty.  Perhaps it’s because of the Easter holidays and everyone had been buying lots of books.  BB found a 2016 Beano annual, which I am sure we could have found cheaper elsewhere – but in the absence of anything else, TT bought it along with a book for himself.

We headed home to warm up before heading out for tea (and wifi!).
