Brilliantissimum

The leaves of this Acer Brilliantissimum are just emerging and opening in the garden. You can see how it gets it's name.

It is delightful for a few weeks showing this glorious peaches orange colour. Then they turn green and stare to look a bit tatty. The tree still has a nice shape though and is certainly worth having for this glorious early colour.

Elsewhere in the garden the Magnolia Soulangia blooms are now open with many still to come. Lots of bee activity on the Pieris but difficult to capture especially as the little bell like blooms mean they have to hang upside down.

Catching up with the washing and ironing after church this morning but starting to wilt after so many late nights last week.
