Jumping Fish

Jumping fish ... because they had had their chips.

What a wonderful day on a boat - we totally did not expect to have dolphins at any point here. The Captain, Capt' B, has to have a mention he says, with his dexterous  moves on the tiller; he didn't sing either ;)  He says he is a little more handsome than our last boat captain.... if ... a little rakish .... :0) I have yet to be convinced of this after 35 years!

I was not in charge of the map which blew overboard into the water and trying valiantly thinking I was going to have to dive in, got my kit off but  Hubs (Capt' B) finally after a lot of hoo ha, managed to capture it on a paddle. However as he swung the map on deck which had been on the bottom of the river on board he started dripping water all over my camera on the seat. A quick panicked push on my part sent the map somersaulting back back to the depths :/!! Finally, thankfully, he managed to get it on board.

Keeping up with the dolphins for about an hour was so very exciting and I felt like a real wildlife photographer watching them circle the fish into a ball then close in, sending them up in the air to escape. Stunning to watch and the whole stalking and creeping up was not just fun but really fab to do. The manatees which we passed on the way paled  on the excitement stakes but we had snorkelled with them last year.
