Baby Minding

Since early morning when neighbour Sally put a note through to say there was a baby bird on the back grass, we have been minding this little chap on and off. We think he must have fallen out of the blackbird nest which has been in the shrubbery opposite our kitchen door throughout this season. In fact we think the very good parents have now had three broods. Well Tony shooed him back under the shrubbery and mum has been back and forth all day feeding him, then at teatime he appeared out on the grass again. When I approached he opened his mouth to be fed but then mum arrived and was quite happy to feed him with Buddy the cat and I sitting there - I think she is used to us now. It's bath time and I've left Buddy in charge of the nursery, hopefully he will last another night.
