Bowood 2016 #9: Woodland Walks (Friday 29th April)

The Rhododendron Gardens opened for 2016 on Friday 22nd, but I was busy preparing to go away, and it was raining, so the first chance I had to go was a week later. I was told by the man at the gate that I hadn't missed very much apart from a hail and snow storm, as not many of the rhododendrons were out yet.

One new feature is that a driveway, separated from the main gardens by an electrified deer fence, was now open to the public. I could see that it led through extensive bluebell woods so I took the opportunity to take that particular Woodland Walk (The Rhododendron Gardens are now a part of the newly renamed Woodland Walks).

I was trying out my new camera (of which more later) coupled with my 12-24 mm lens, as the new lens I pre-ordered with the camera body isn't yet available, but for blip I have chosen this telephoto image taken with my red K50.
