Lazy Day

There was something of a plan to park up at the top of Sutton Bank today and walk back down to cheer on Le Tour, but I think neither of us were that enthusiastic in light of the forecast and the driving, and then we didn't wake up till nearly 11 (!) so that idea was totally scuppered.  That comes of watching Lord of the Rings till the early hours (to spot the places we visited in NZ!), we don't do late nights like we used to do.

A good alternative was to slob on the settee and watch the coverage right to the very exciting sprint finish in Scarborough.  It's a pity that the tv adverts  mean that whole sections are missed out (as happened to Keighley on Le Grand Depart) especially when communities often go to great lengths to make it a great day.

By the time the race had finished I was feeling guilty at having zero exercise so I took a walk around Coppice Pond.  There is a coot nest  in the middle of the pond with half a dozen comical cootlings but they were too far off to get a decent blip.  I think this little chap is a good second choice.
