Welcome to San Francisco

We spent a very fine day at the new SF MOMA. The building has been closed for 2 years of expansion and renovation and this week members were treated to a preview of the fantastic new space. Let me just say this: include a visit if you are anywhere near the city this summer. Two new floors, expanded gallery space, exciting new art--this was an amazing undertaking. The first two floors are now free and open to all; 45,000 square feet of art-filled public space including so many familiar works from the old museum. The new floors are open and airy, none of the galleries felt congested or crowded, and there is ample space for larger work. We were on site for over five hours, somewhat of a record for me, and didn't come close to exploring everything.

The Extra is one of the uniquely colored bathrooms. First floor is red. After that you're on your own.

Hipstamatic: Lowy lens, Blanko film.
