After travelling through most of the night we returned to Blighty in glorious weather, all this talk of snow, hail and rain I think was all made up ;)

I managed to get a few hours sleep on the plane but still needed a power nap when we got into the rather chilly house.

Normally after a holiday I feel a bit miserable knowing I have to wait a longtime for the next break but this time I was quite excited to return to see how the house is coming along. Considering how bad the weather had been the builders have done a grand job.

Most impressive is the new roof, if you'd seen the state of this before hand you'd realise what a stunning job they've done. The old tiles had been bitumened over to quick fix leaks but it still leaked and looked horrible.

The builders have also rebuilt two chimneys that were beyond repair and they too look excellent.

Glad we went for traditional tiles in the end making the old building look authentic as possible.

This week we are having the new windows fitted too, so in no time we will have a weather sealed house once again :)
