Seasons In The Sun

Another 'oding' season is here. I shot my first damselfly of 2015 on this date and today was delighted to have captured my first member of the Odonata (hence the term oding) of 2016. I had been looking very hard all day to no avail but late this afternoon I spotted a damsel's fluttering flight. It landed on a grass stem and clung on for dear life for ages. I would imagine it had recently emerged.

I got my first decent shot this year of a speckled wood butterfly too. I wanted to do something a bit different and have shot it from below into the light. I managed to photograph lots of other insects and spiders today also. I'm so pleased that the sun has brought them all out. :)
