Blipmeet

The thread of Blipfoto is so woven through our lives that when we Blippers get together, we're like old friends even though we've never met in person. We complain about how much time we spend looking for pictures, taking pictures, looking at other people's pictures and commenting on them , but we all agree that it is the friendships we make that keep us at it. Today was proof of that when, despite email glitches (all my fault) and drizzly, chilly weather, blipper Evelyne NC and I got together for a pleasant, if all too brief meeting. Thank you, Evelyne,  for taking time to come by Wildwood Trail for a quick get-together. I feel sure we will be getting together again.

We just finished watching the Kentucky Derby, something we do every year even though we aren't 'horse people', 'hat people' or betting people. It is such a spectacle, the horses are so bred and groomed and pampered that they don't look quite real, and they are topped by jockeys who are so little and sitting in such an awkward position, barely astride their mounts with their legs tucked under them, that they they don't look quite real. either. Nevertheless, we watched again today, particularly interested in the jockey/trainer team of brothers Kent and Keith Desormeaux and their horse, Exaggerater. They came in second. I thought it was an impressive race, but nobody cares about the horse that came in second.

It's still raining and gloomy outside, but we are looking forward to the return of our friends from Oregon who will be with us for a few days.
