Arbroath Noddy Train

Officially the Road Train, but nobody calls it that!  I was surprised to see it running today as there had been much doubt over its future last year.  If we hadn't been sitting eating our fish and chips by the harbour, we might have been tempted to have a ride on it:-)

A lovely sunny day, but with a keen edge to the breeze and still no rain - which is great for us but can't be so good for the farmers round here.

A worrying message from daughter and son-in-law when we got home to say that a wheel had come off their caravan while on the Autoroute in France, right at the start of their two week holiday.  The caravan had only been serviced a few weeks ago in preparation for the trip!

Fortunately nobody was hurt and the wheel landed safely by the side of the road, but repairs will not be possible until Tuesday, as Monday is a holiday in the area.  With great foresight, they had taken out the Caravan Club's top of the range insurance and that has made life a whole lot easier.  They have been installed in a lovely hotel and have been told they can continue their planned holiday, staying in hotels or static caravans (their preferred choice), which will be pre-booked for them.

Fortunately, they have been able to see the funny side of it all and their message began "You know that old saying about having one and the wheel fell off?  Well, it happened to us!!"  Fingers crossed there are no more mishaps.
