Berrington Hall (Backblip)

We went to Berrington Hall, near Leominster today and the weather was glorious. The house was created by the Harley's in 1775 and the magnificent parkland was Lancelot 'Capability' Brown's final landscape and which was indeed magnificent. We took one of the walks round the parkland, we explored the Mansion and had a guided tour round the servants quarters, we loved the costumes on display from the Charles Paget Wade collection and Hereford Museum and Resource Centre and even dressed up as a gorgeous(?) Georgian. Finally, the exhibition of textile art by the National Embroiders' Guild inspired by the CB's landscape at Berrington was quite stunning.
The walled garden was a joy to walk round with lots of interesting fruit and veg planted; one of the walls hosted a beautiful Wisteria in full bloom, the historic orchard was full of heritage apple trees in blossom and the potting shed had a great collection of period tools ( which held Mr T's interest), after that we played a round of Georgian croquet and had our picnic.

Back home for a quick change and then up to the pub again as guests of the Paragliders' Dinner.
