A Meandering Life...

Cruise :: Day 6 :: Ketchikan

This morning we woke as we arrived in Ketchikan. This was to be the first time Mrs S and I had set foot in Alaska. It was also Mrs S birthday.

The biggest surprise we had was being greeted by bald eagles having a dispute over a fish meal just outside our cabin!

We spent most of the day in town beginning with a walking tour led by a member of the local Tlingit tribe. Seeing the old buildings on stilts over the waterfront was interesting but the stories about their seedy past was funny.

We will up anchor and return to the Misty Fjords. It has been very sunny and warm for all but one day so far. Having packed for the cold and wet other passengers have stocked up on t-shirts in town.
