Flower spike

The agave attenuata doesn't flower very often, and when it does, you know that the plant is going to die when the flower spike fades.  There are lots of pups growing at the base, and they are incredibly easy to propagate, so it's not as dire as it sounds.

This spike only appeared just a week ago, so must be growing at the rate of about 8-10cms a day. 

I don't know how much higher it's going to grow.
