Four Countries!

Hello Blipfriends!
Dolly reporting again today!

We have been in FOUR countries today!  Wow!

The morning started with PACKING!  Which did not make me happy!  I don't like packing!  (Neither does mum, she says). Our holiday was coming to an end. We left the cottage at lunch time and didn't have to be at Calais until about 7 o'clock. So we did a little bit of touring in the afternoon.

Firstly we went to the little nearby town of Sint Laureins - still in Belgium. We looked around a church and then another building - a monastery that has been converted to a hotel and restaurant.

Then we drove to Holland!  We ended up in a town called Aardenburg where there was a big forest just outside of the town. Mum thought this would be a good place for a walk - and guess what?  Another picnic!  We had our picnic right next to the big house in the picture, which Mum says is a Bed & Breakfast.

After that it was time to drive down to Calais. We left Holland, entered Belgium again and then France. Mum was glad she had allowed extra time because we hit some major roadworks and diversions and the GPS wasn't coping very well and she had to use her own intuition. But we still made it in time. Just!

I am obviously a VIP!  (Very Important Poodle!). Because they had a special reception area for me at the Eurotunnel. My passport was scrutinised very thoroughly and I was scanned to make sure I was chipped. I even received a special document that went on the car window so they would know there was a VIP on board!  When Mum showed her passport a few minutes later they only gave it a casual glance. I guess she's not that important!!

The Eurotunnel train wasn't very busy and we were one of the first cars to get on. We LIKE travelling this way!  During the 35 minute crossing we had a bit more food from our picnic and I dozed a bit. Once we got to Folkestone we just drove off the train and we were right on the Motorway!  After a brief stop for petrol and a coffee, we drove the 2 hours to home.  Home Sweet Home!  It was a great, adventurous holiday - but it WAS good to be HOME!!
