All at sea - 19th May Backblip

Walked along the beach to Alnmouth which I'd seen from the train on our way to Edinburgh last November.  It was a fairly overcast day and whilst the tide was out on the way there we knew we might have to take to the coast path on the return walk.

Not much to see in Alnmouth although we found a delightful teashop where we had a bite to eat for lunch.

On the return leg we disturbed a Mallard and nine chicks who were enjoying a quiet lunch in amongst the seaweek.  One look at us and they took to the sea, occasionally disappearing under a wave but each time bobbing back to the surface quite safely.  A strange sight.

Our last day of what was a thoroughly enjoyable visit to a beautiful part of Britain.
