An ordinary life....

Doorway...

To where the games room used to be.

Up with the larks again this morning.  The demolition guys arrived just after 7.30 and got to work.

I looked out the kitchen window at 9am and they'd ripped the stone off the front wall and were working away at the roof.  Gave Alan lunch then Ele arrived to join me for lunch and by the time we moved again from the sofa, the bulk of the games room was gone (see extras)

Kenny had been playing golf so he arrived and had coffee and by the time they left to head home just before 6pm the builders had gone, so we sneaked a look out the inner hallway door that used to lead to the games room.

As you can see, it's no longer an inner hallway!  So weird to have natural daylight there.  There's something strange about having the end lopped off your house.  It's no longer symmetrical :D

The last wall of the games room will be down tomorrow then they can get started on breaking up the concrete foundations of not only the games room, but the concrete that was under the decking from a previous conservatory that ran the length of half the house way before our time.

I am amazed at how quiet these diggers are.  Even with the kitchen window open I hardly noticed them.

Kenny left David a gift of a hi-viz vest.  (K works in the building trade)  It's draped over a kitchen chair looking like it's been inadvertently left there by a workman.  D's not home yet, but when he gets in and sees it questions might be asked ;-)))

I promise I'm not going to be blipping building works for the next 200 odd days.  The novelty will soon wear off :D
