At the parliament

Spent a couple of hours with a local MSP taking a series of portraits. Another in my occasional series of local politicians. This is Kezia Dugdale, one of the Labour list MSPs for Lothian since the last Scottish Parliament election in 2011. Unlike Edinburgh Council Leader, Andrew Burns, Kez wanted to take some pictures away from her office, out and about in East Edinburgh. Fortunately it was a lovely day and we got a few nice shots down in Portobello and then on our way back into town in some streets where Kez had done a lot of campaigning. Just to round off the set, I thought it would be good to get one near the Parliament itself, although still outside. Rather than the more conventional front view, we went to the other side of the building, where I took this shot in front of some of the famous 'thinking pod' windows. Spoilt for choice today, I could have gone with any one of several images, or even another montage, but decided to impose a bit of self-discipline and pick just one image in the end. A montage in this sort of case can sometimes be a cop-out for me as I can avoid making a proper decision, so just the one it is!
