The flight of the bumblebee

Work continues apace in the garden. The beautiful weather makes it so much easier for us all - though a bit too hot for Barry and Sam working hard lifting slabs, turf and shrubs. In the midst of their work they came upon a bee nest. I think they're common white tailed bumblebees but whatever they are the last thing we want to do is frighten them. Sam is going to think about how we rehome them elsewhere in the garden. The extra is the promised theodolite with a view down the garden.

Just back from Edinburgh and a hospital trip for mum. As we were waiting to be called the TV was showing the service to commemorate the Battle of Jutland from lovely St Magnus Cathedral in Kirkwall. Not sure that the Orkney weather looked so sunny today though.
